As you all know drupal 8 is using Symfony Components. That is the main reason of switching to symfony.
While i was reading this book Symfony.
Here is the first article how to install Symfony on Ubuntu machine.
Note: Don't copy the Dollar($) ofcourse.
1. Open your command console and execute the following commands:
$ sudo curl -LsS http://symfony.com/installer -o /usr/local/bin/symfony
$ sudo chmod a+x /usr/local/bin/symfony
2. Creating the Symfony Application
$ symfony new my_project_name
This command creates a new directory called my_project_name that contains a fresh new project based on the most recent stable Symfony version available. In addition, the installer checks if your system meets the technical requirements to execute Symfony applications. If not, you'll see the list of changes needed to meet those requirements.
Please note there are different ways for creating a project in Symfony with other tools like Composer.
3. Running the Symfony Application
$ cd my_project_name
$ php bin/console server:run
Check by pointing to
A welcome page will be there.
4. Stopping the Symfony Application
$ php bin/console server:stop
5. Configure the Symfony
In my case i have to set the date.timezone i have done that with editing
sudo vi /etc/php5/cli/php.ini
date.timezone = "Asia/Kolkata"
That is it.
More to come stay tuned. Thanks for reading this.
